Blogs promote the exchange of ideas. I've used this blog for several semesters to get students talking about media industry topics. Articles you read, post and comment about should deal with media programming topics, and this is a wide-open arena—programming developments, traditional and new distribution channels, technology developments, job and career matters, regulation (FCC?), program performance--including the new fall television season. I hope you’re beginning to get the picture.

Awesome congress. Awesome.

Thanks to Congress... never thought I would say that. They passed a law recently to make it illegal for commercial makers to crank up the volume on their ads. I am sure many of you have noticed that the volume on some of the commercials are ten times louder than the show you are watching. So you have to go back and forth with the volume to hear your show but not be blasted out by the commercials. Hooray for law makers! My ears thank you.

The Soup: 300th Episode

Congratulations to The Soup for giving a weekly dose of entertainment news with flavor for 300 episodes. Joel McHale the host of the show always finds ways to bring humor as well as uniting people like Sanjaya, Regis, and Martha Stewart. We would like to tell Joel we THANK YOU! Also, a big thank you goes out to him for his highly underrated role in Community. In my opinion this entertainment news talk is hilarious and I do make it a point to watch it when I am tuned into the E!
