Shake Weight Advertising

So, have you all heard about the Shake Weight? When it was released the following commercial advertised it. Shortly after, they received a lot of criticism about how it works. There are plenty of youtube videos that you can find.

Today I saw a new commercial in which they didn't demonstrate the exercise equipment...
If you can find it, repost it. I couldn't find it.

Question: I think that this sexually suggestive commercial helped the sales of the product! I know, my friend got it because I told her it was a scam and how stupid it looked. What do you think?

I've seen the suggestive commercials, but not the new ads. I believe that the advertisers knew full well what they were doing. There are so many different diet and exercise products going around these days. The advertisers found a way to distinguish their product from everyone else. Whether or not the product actually works well, enough people will probably purchase it to make it a successful marketing campaign. The same old saying is true: sex sells. (one weird way or another)

Every video I saw demonstrated the use of the Shake Weight. I agree with Chris "sex sells." Most commercial ads these days have some sexual content in it whether it is in your face sexual meaning or subtle. The comments under the YouTube video Scotty posted are very sexual. Another product is the Reboox Easy Tone shoes that is suppose to make your butt and legs look better. The commercial for this shoe is very sexual and friends who bought them said their butt and legs still look the same. Everyone has their own opinion on why sex sells and the simplest answer it just does. There is even a website that has the top 15 best sexual ads. It is sad to say, but most commercials with sexual content have the most potential in selling their product.

ha...Wow. To summarize exactly what you guys are saying, YES sex sells, BUT also, it's just getting so much attention. This commercial and piece of equipment is just so interesting. The way they did the commercial, on purpose to make viewers intrigued...ha...even Ellen had it on her show and made fun of it a lot. It's being promoted on Ellen's show, nevertheless...or advertised...or simply, SEEN. The creators knew exactly what they were doing, and though the product is "interesting"...it's not going unnoticed. Smart move, I guess?

I will agree with my other friend's opinions as well. To me, exercise products are all the same and they are not really work out. When I look at those commercials, I only see shaped bodies. My attention only goes to directly their faces or bodies actually not the product they sell. But just like chrisw7 said they knew full well what they were doing.!!!
